This is constant on call is too much. It's hard to get away and we have to make a conscious decision to do so.
Wait - not everything is urgent? I know what you mean.

Good article, Kenny. This is something that I still struggle with a bit myself, but having firm rules in place helps. We answer no calls during supper, as a rule. There are also usually no phones upstairs, making bath time, bedtime, and sleep time sacred for our little family.

After the boys are in bed, I do check email, notifications, etc, but I leave my cell phone on the kitchen island. I can check it as I pass by, but it doesn't come with me into the living room.

It's not a perfect system, but more an attempt at balance. I enjoy being plugged in, to a certain degree, but some time is just too valuable.

Creed

This is everywhere you look as well. I remember walking home from school and talking with friends but not it seems like everywhere you walk people are just plugged in their phones…transportation, waiting rooms, elevators, etc.
